You are not rehabilitating a system .... That would be true if the system was dead when you took over on 15 December 1999. At that stage the system was functional. It suffered merely under financial constraints due to Government cutbacks on Environmental issues. At time of your appointment you have already stated that you will do what it takes to enforce your vision on the area. Remember the introduction of The Lebombo Spatial Development Initiative at St Lucia Ski Boat Club in 1996.
Do you remember how you bullied females, Ladies of our community, on a public open meeting relating questions on Recreational Angling in The Greater St Lucia Area. Do you remember how you abused Park rules to over ride The National Recreational Angling Act. Do you remember flashing your green scorpion credentials around town?
Now please explain if this current drought started back in December 1999 why are you dry dredging sediment across Turtle Breeding Beeches during Turtle Season over known and documented Turtle Nesting Sights in the height of rainy season. This Management Plan was accepted in 2013 and you received 7.5 million Euro for this project which you neglected to implement for three years. You started it of with low impact Wet Dredging in the height of the dry season during the worst drought of 65 years.

No one cares about the legacy of a humble person. It is the Psycho Paths and Skitsofrenis that ends up in History Books. The thing is every person want to leave a legacy, maybe that is true. I was brought up in a humble home where we were taught that all humans are equal and that all business ventures must give people equal opportunities. Or maybe I missed on of the memo's or family meetings. Maybe I spend to much time with my dear old Grandmother.
One thing life taught me is stop investigating at some point. Stop learning. Only God is all knowing. If you want to fit in you must accept to be a sheep. Who knows what tripped my switch. The fact that it is broken does not make life any easier for me. It means I have to justify all my actions against bullies very calculatively. The line between act of crime and justice is very thin. Especially when your switch is broken. Being Calculated comes with it's own draw backs. Now in essence what Andrew Zaloumis is doing with The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, which was left to us all by Nollie Zaloumis, George Hughes and Ian Player, is not in the best interest of all South Africans.
Over the past 16 years he has alienated traditional Zulu Crafters from their legacy and customer base. If one reads the history books it is not what the Big Three has anticipated. They builded a World Renowned Park integrating White Apartheid and Zulu Culture. This is a legacy no other person could achieve. They have build a management Structure in Natal Parks Board that successfully managed all aspects of the sensitive and fragile ecosystem and the needs of so many people from so many walks of live.
Andrew Zaloumis has destroyed this. Yes I can proof it in a court of law, but since we have freedom of speech in South Africa I don't need to. Already engaged with Andrew in two legal battles I am sure a third one will be not only a waste of taxpayers money, but also be over playing his legal hand. Yet I wont mind the publicity Mass Media will give my cause in this matter should Andrew pursue another legal battle against me, See the problem is Andrew Zaloumis is now a public figure and we can write about him as long as it is vaguely true.
Since my integrity is at stake I won't gossip about all the rumors surround Andrew. He has a Wife and Children. This is the main reason why I was holding back for so long before I started in this war of words and mayhem to expose him for who he really is. Out of respect for his children and his right to be a father, but Andrew is Apathetic and keeps on going like a one man wrecking ball. Well this has tripped my switch that I came out of my corner swinging ....
Andrew Zaloumis never filed for an Application to drive on the beaches. With hindsight the Application would have failed, but those acts where only casted in stone by Martinus van Schalkwyk in 2006. So by way of deduction he never intended to file an Application to drive on the beaches.
Andrew closed the Estuary Mouth Mechanically in 2000, 2007 and in 2016 with a high court court case that he reversed engineered. Very cunning I must say, but very shrewd and disrespectful to the presiding Judge,
Andrew Zaloumis received management over The Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park on 15 December 1999. This move he already planned in 1996. Thanks to Gerrie Swan, Town Clerk St Lucia Town Board at the time, Andrew moved in and destroyed a very fragile economy impacting most on Zulu Crafters.
The most important fact is that The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park received a Grant in 2000 from the World Bank in the amount of US $9 500 000.00. to repair the damage to St Lucia Estuary. By 2012 The Estuary was declared dead. The iSimangaliso Wetlands Park Authority received another 7.5 million Euros to do the same job again in 2013. In 2016 Andrew was broadcast by Kwela on Kyk Net that the Estuary will be open by October 2016. Not only was this a lie Andrew told us in 2014 he is starting a management plan that will link the Estuary to The Ocean.
Now this is where it is getting interesting .... See this Report ... Well for those who do the effort in cross referencing my facts will see that you cannot get the report through normal browsing, but yeah Bierpens is not a average user. The Fact is Mike Bower ... It is FREE MONEY ... How ever you look at the Park is Run and Built and Maintained on Free Money. If I defend myself against The iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority it comes from the food on my childrens table. So see Mike when Andrew takes a legal swing at me it impacts on the health of my children and their well being in general. It does not happen with free money.
Now that we have cleared the air regarding this matter. Andrew has restricted us, The Public, from Kob Fishing, Park Rules they call it. Well those sacred Kobs died. If we look at the above facts they where killed due to gross negligence.

Fact is Andrew one can dilute 90/1000 parts of salt with fresh ocean water, but you cannot dilute sand with wind and hope marine life will prevail.

So I went down to the beach this morning to do my weekly fishing report and run into all sorts of obstacles. Now personally I don't have a problem with traffic flow control this time of the year. The iMfolozi River came down quiet extensively. Water levels in the Estuary has risen way above high water mark. This is in a way good news. Unfortunately the dynamics in management has change so much that a breach prediction at this stage is a mere speculation. In the absence of utilizing the scouring effect I personally believe the pressure will not rise enough to breach. The water surface is large, but the volume is not significant due to shallow silted up scenario.
If the sediment trap in front of the Ski Boat Club was maintained and the back channels and their sediment traps was maintained we might have a built up to the extend where we could have a breach ... now I think the water will merely percolate into the ocean on spring tide low.
In the wake of a Rhino Poaching at iSimangaliso Wetlands Park near Mfabeni Section a Poacher was killed in the ensuing fire fight. As The Mexican said in a previous post by himself on this blog on Rhino Wars, there is many hungry men that can fire a gun out there, but we never get the master minds who profit from the artificially inflated Rhino Horn prices. At his point me and The Mexican disagree, but I stand my ground ... Rhino Horn Price is artificially inflated.
To come to this conclusion is easy and time consuming. Right at the beginning of the War there was a spike in inelegance's monitory worth of Rhino Poaching. It was so high and the punishment so irrelevant that two people could easily conspire in harvesting the trophy money that was offered on mere information that might lead to the capture and prosecution of a suspected poacher.
Then followed the massive over load in NPO's that could harvest 40% of Donations they raised in their evil fight against Rhino Poaching. The fight of an NPO against Rhino poaching is evil ... for already well placed anti poaching units where on the round that just needed funding. Their administrative cost was already covered because they where NGO's. An NPO can retain up to 40% of donations made to them.
This is not "mostert na die maal" I sacrificed hundreds of Facebook friends in this battle to stop NPO's from popping up like mushrooms. Pun Intended, because these tea party warriors where part of a click that was a mere link in a chain of a much bigger well planned and played out network of illegal Rhino Horn Sales. If these tea toddlers did not know about the conspiracy they belong to then they are mushrooms. If they did they are part of the Syndicate feeding the trade.
Fact is ... Supply vs Demand. If you cut the supply the demand will stay the same and the price will increase. Now here can be two snakes to this head. Syndicates already had a stock pile abroad and legal trade would kill their lucrative markets. Or they could merely wanted to keep demand higher than supply. Either way it is fairly easy to harvest Rhino Horn. Every ten months you have a healthy new growth. It was not illegal to do this so many private farmers did take part in this activity. It is unclear what happened to this massive stock pile.
What is very clear is that the sympathy out cry of this tea toddler mushrooms are keeping the price artificially high and it is like playing the Lotto just better stakes for desperate fathers/brothers/sons/husbands who need to feed their families in a corrupt African economy. Where the Blackness feast on white guilt while enslaving their own for generations to come through debt.

Last night we were probably experiencing the eye of the storm. One resident measured 48mm of rain. The functionality of his equipment is under scrutiny. It felt and sounded closer to 480mm. This morning it was found that a banana tree fell over the flat's roof.
Death of forest giants in a storm like this is inevitable, but harvesting needs to be done. In Afrikaans there is a saying... Die een se dood is die ander se brood. In this scenario it cannot be more true.
Water levels in The Estuary is at an all time high... Well since Andrew reserves the right to repair something he broke... It means Demonia is irrelevant. So the Park's flourishing history starts at declaration of World Heritage Site on 15 December 1999. What his father accomplished is now null and void.
Any way some people have some will inside them to revive the ailing system... Even if it means revoking the status...
Local Tour Guide and Operator Charl Koen saw the Armed robbery taking place at Spar around 19:00. Made U Turn and raced to the Entrance Gate of St Lucia Estuary ... calling the Assistance of Nyala Security to close the only exit from town.
The first vehicle with the armed robber occupants pushed the Nyala Security Vehicle out of the way as they exited from the town. In the video you can see The Nissan Hardbody of Extreme Nature Tours, Charl Koen, blocking the road on the left towards the pavement.
Charl makes a brief appearance from the shelter of the Guard House at the entrance as he warned his friend coming into town with the white bakkie and trailer. Charl moved like speed of lighting back to the cover of the guard house when they started firing shots scaring off the people who tried to block their escape route.
Spar was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. Tourist was relieved of their wallets and Passports. Since St Lucia and the 640 000 people surrounding the World Heritage site has become totally dependent on International Tourism ... This incident is taken very seriously by locals that makes a living from this Industry.
Everyone is affected by National Domestic Politics and Violence. On top of this the drought play a large role in local's surrounding the park mainly living as subsistence farmers. Over the past 16 years the World Heritage management has alienated traditional fishing tourist. Locally make carving sales has plunged and International Tourist cannot export local Crafts because of the raw untreated materials used.
Luckily No One Got hurt. ... Words one hate to use because of the unnecessary exuberant high volumes of violent crime being committed by Gun Wielding Criminals.

People are willing to fight for their lives to protect their livelihood and the Industry. This is a shout out to everybody that helped at the gate. Not everyone wants their names mentioned, but we take note of the passion that they proofed to have towards making St Lucia a safe and better place.

No one injured. The one vehicle was forced of the road by SAPS St Lucia. But they shot at them and escaped on foot. All suspects still at large. At time of publication no injuries was reported yet. Seems everyone witnessing this and in the middle of this seems to be okay, but just shaken.
The statistics released by the South African Police Services appear below. Pardon me if I believe they have been “watered down” considerably. That and the fact that many victims do not bother to report the crimes cause me to doubt the accuracy of the reports. I believe we have, not hundreds but THOUSANDS of people/civilians walking around suffering from various degrees of Post Traumatic Stress.

Despite promising high sea with the built up to Equinox the ocean did not create a lasting breach into the Estuary. Water levels is high, but the sediment build up in front of the Estuary's mouth is high.
We are moving towards a Spring Tide, but it will tall short of 20 October. With out a Cyclone pushing down the Mozambique channel there's very little hope of a natural breach before December 2016.
Another year out planet has to function with out one of its most important life support systems.
How ever conditions looks great for Grunter Season. The little interaction between ocean and estuary will spawn all the critters to restock and also calls the Grunter to their Natural spawning grounds.
Get your rods ready and your trip planned to the coast. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
