Trevor Noah made us believe we are a country healing with his comical material about his life as a X Breed in Apartheid South Africa. He made millions out of his material Day Walker.

Trevor Noah (born 20 February 1984)^[1] is a South African comedian, television and radio host and actor.^[2] He currently hosts The Daily Show, a late-night television talk show on Comedy Central.

I was a wicked fan of Trevor because he could make us laugh about all the shit we had to go through during our struggle to separate ourselves from the Royal British Throne and become an independent Country not dictated by the World on our Future. Trevor was sort of the bridge to put the hatred behind us and work together on building a future for our children... but then he made the slip up and turned on his most loyal supporters.

Now Trevor has very firsthand experience on why Apartheid was enforced onto South Africa. It is that the distance between Racial Tribalism and Western Democracy was just to big a gap to bridge in one lifetime. The Coward fled after one threatening phone call that actually originated from him.
In 1992, Noah's mother was married to Ngisaveni Shingange, and while married they had two sons. She divorced him in 1996. In 2009, after she became engaged to Sfiso Khoza, Shingange shot her in the back and face, stopping when the gun jammed; she survived. When Noah later confronted him on the phone about the shooting, Shingange threatened his life, prompting Noah to leave Johannesburg for Los Angeles.^[22][40][41] 

Trever Noah was the first person of colour to part take in the White Chicken Run. Anyway now he is going up against a lady and does pretty much the same one of his many step fathers did to his mother. He ridiculed her over her personal views on political correctness.

Maybe Tommy Sotomayor is right. There is some romance between the two, but way dancing with racial tension when you can have it at candle light dinner ... Oh ... yes I forgot. It is a cultural thing. Apartheid stripped him of his manhood to court a lady.  Well Trevor you have lost one well educated white supporter in your rantings against Apartheid. It has nothing to do with us that you have failed as a comedian. You cant blame it on Apartheid.

Religion 101 - Should the church pay taxes?

First we have to look at the modern reasons why the church does not pay tax. As usual any research ends up in the American way of thinking; but the question of taxation and churches predates the American Constitution by centuries. Tax exemption for churches grew out of this history, not out of early American political theory. We can get back to that in a while.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

This is some of the reasoning:

 If we tax churches, then we will need to tax all not-for-profit organizations.
Now that is bloody debatable! A picture says a thousand words…..

To tax churches, government would need to have the (currently unconstitutional) authority to audit and regulate churches.

So the church is the IDEAL place to run illegal activities, launder money for arms, drugs and maybe even Rhino horn. Forgive me but I am a pretty cynical chap.


There are too many modern arguments put forward for non-taxation of the church to list them all here. Let’s go back a few centuries.


In the Old Testament, priests were exempted from taxation by Pharaoh (Gen. 47:26) and by Persia’s King Artaxerxes (Ezra 7:24).

Oh, so two pagan leaders gave the priests a break. The habit of following pagan traditions in Christianity is a  longer than I thought. Christmas is coming up and  the memes shall be all over Facebook soon, putting Christ back into Christmas etc. God give me strength.

This can go round and round forever, the best way to solve this is to see what Jesus said.

From a Different Angle 8

Mostly I like to take photographs in the bushveld, lots of small animals are around even when one cannot find something dramatic like an elephant. Sometimes I get stuck in the city, and one can only take so many skyline shots; then I also look for the smaller things there too.

Crates, not the most visually exciting things in the world, I know, but these caught my eye.

One day walking in a particularly ugly part of Gauteng, Malvern East, and walking down a just as ugly street, Jules Street, I was lucky enough not to get mugged and got this shot. The compacted rubbish was on the back of a truck, the colours caught my eye.

At Photography 101 we will  show you how to LOOK, first with your own eyes and only then through the view finder. Birds Eye View. A photo from the top down. Sometimes one needs a lather to get a high enough angle. This can be good candid shots but not likely to capture the essence of the Story one wants to tell. Every picture tells a story. The story is all about the essence. If you miss that you have mist the catch phrase. When recording a story of your pet you must look at the different angles to capture the soul of your pet/baby or toy. 

a Singular picture can tell a story, but that is mostly landscape, In this picture the cute puppy looks lost and defenceless. This little rascal is actually a highly intelligent wanderer with great escaping abilities. So we looking at angles to ensure the esense of the story is told in a picture.

Taking this shot from a Bird's Eye View would not include the wide expanse of her outdoor lifestyle. By no means this is a winning photograph, but surely one that will help tell in her Scrapbook to tell the people what she loves most.

Failure of equipment can sometimes lead to some amazing exposures. With a Cellphone you don't have the ability to focus on the subject and blank out the back ground, but from the right angle and with the right pose one can still get a nice enough scrapbook picture to show how royal your pussy really is.

While working at a bush camp I made a vegetable garden. Now I did take some photographs of the actual garden and even some of the fruits of my labour but  one day this spray head caught my attention.

Just beyond this fence was a whole herd of Eland, very large antelope, of course I took photographs of them; but I also saw this spider’s web.

Religion 101 - God has a Plan for you?

I was watching a true story of a rather bad pastor last night; the thing that stuck me is he kept harping on the fact God has a plan for your life. He used this to manipulate people, have his evil way with vulnerable women and even killed one or two people.
I am not sure about this. I worked out that in my youth I spent more than 5500 hours in Bible Study, part of it was in the Theocratic Ministry School. That is apart from the time I spent going to strangers houses and discussing the Bible with them, good couple of thousand hours were put in there. So I sort of know what the Bible says. After that I did not attend church or even think about Spirituality for what? 20 years. Then I had too.  After 7 years of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous, an hour or so at least a week, 438 hours, and a lot of the AA consists of a Spiritual nature. I slipped up and decided to go look at this church thing again. Two Bible studies a week with two totally different denominations for months. That story is in Some Chronicles of the Mexican Horse Thief, written but not yet published. Those are my qualifications.
Firstly, I must admit, if this statement IS true, I am not so happy with the plan that was hatched for me! I think it has been a bit damn rough.
On a more theocratic level, it clearly states in the Bible, that God gave man free will; and that dear reader, is where ALL the trouble started. Now if man has free will, it is logical that a plan or destiny is impossible.  I know what the standard Christian answer to this will be. “God works in mysterious ways.” And that, is the biggest cop-out that I have ever heard. Makes it extremely difficult to gain a better knowledge of the Higher Power, I do believe is out there, somewhere.
The words to UB40’s song come to mind.
“And every hour of every day I’m learning more
The more I learn, the less I know about before
The less I know, the more I want to look around
Digging deep for clues on higher ground.”

In From a Different Angle 2  and then again 4, I mentioned, “Piece of advice; never delete ANY of your photographs, you may take an interest in photoshop and need them one day.”
I cannot emphasize this enough. Some people, very few now-a-days, may never use photoshop, but as you are reading a blog, you are likely to be writing one, or commenting on one soon. That funny/bad photo you deleted? “Hell, it would have been perfect for…” 

The first photo is a closeup of a crocodiles tail, I must admit some of my shots have been a bit risky; but I am still more weary of a hippo than a croc.

I am not sure what I will use this photograph for, but taking my own advice I am going to keep it.

Some of the photos in this series are going to be poor quality, as they were taken with a cell phone camera, and not a very good cell phone at that! We all get those moments when we curse the fact that our camera is not with us. Or living in South Africa, it has been stolen! They are here just to show “looking from a different angle.”
A person can have the best equipment money can buy, and get a high quality, mega pixel, in focus shot every time, no problem.  But then the composition can be lousy, no matter how interesting the subject is, and if the shot is not pleasing to the eye, is a snapshot, nothing more, nothing less.
So you go learn all about composition, the “rule of thirds”, and even take it further and go for the rule of 5ths. Your photographs are now 100% better, but still not THE best.
